Brimbor
Brimbor is an ancient dwarven city located near Kingsglade. It was destroyed prior to the start of the campaign, and the party traversed its ruins to cross the border into Solithia.
Appearance & Locations
Brimbor is located underground. The majority of the city is collapsed, but much of the Brimbor Laboratory for Magitechnology is still intact. This includes the central cavern, forges, automaton room, researcher offices, archives, and temples of the gods Dugmaren Brightmantle and Laduguer.
History
Little of Brimbor's history is known, but it was most likely inhabited by both dwarves and duergar before being destroyed by a Cataclysm. The researchers at Brimbor Laboratory were involved in creating the Compass, as well as building an automaton capable of casting spells.
At least one of the laboratory workers was also researching the Cataclysms, and was able to deduce that the time between them was decreasing by a factor of 0.8. However, given that their research notes on the subject were left behind in Brimbor, it is likely they perished before being able to widely share this knowledge.
Campaign Relevance
The party traveled into Brimbor after clearing their names in Kobold Town. While exploring the laboratory, the party dispelled the transmutation on Ms. Pretty, and also found and adopted the fire toad Poptart. They also collected six magical orbs needed to unlock the door to the automaton room. These ended up corresponding to the six types of magical damage the automaton could deal: fire, cold, lightning, bludgeoning, necrotic, and radiant.
After defeating the automaton, the party was able to travel further towards the surface. Although they initially hit a dead end, the wall was knocked down from the other side by The White Dwarf, allowing the party to leave Brimbor and return to the surface.

- The name "Brimbor" is a reference to Celebrimbor from The Lord of the Rings.
